Explore the beauty of North Norfolk with a variety of nearby attractions to visit. Take a walk in the beautiful Blakeney National Nature Reserve or experience the amazing sea life at the Hunstanton Sea Life Sanctuary. You can also relax on the sandy beaches of Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham or visit the famous Holkham Hall and Gardens, which are located just a few miles away from Old Church Hall.
HOLT LIGHTS | FRIDAY 22 NOVEMBER 2024 (*provisional)
Holt and the community welcomes thousands to the official switch-on of Holt Christmas Lights, entering its 9th year.
Live entertainment, street food, craft traders, official switch on, Santa’s grotto and a firework spectacular are on offer.
The Holt Makers Market will begin at 3.00pm with the traditional 'Panto Horse Race' heading off at 5.30pm.
There will be fireworks at 7.00pm followed by live music.
The Thursford Christmas Spectacular is an extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety. It’s a fast moving celebration of the festive season featuring an eclectic mix of both seasonal and year round favourites. With a cast of 130 this is the biggest Christmas show of its kind in Europe!
The 2024 show will run from 8th November – 23rd December 2.00pm & 7.00pm. Suitable for ages 8+.
2024 'End-of-Season' fireworks on Blakeney Quay Plan ‘A’ Saturday 26th October and Plan ‘B’ (ie. weather dictates) Sunday 27th October.
This annual end of season Bonfire & Fireworks Event, will once again be held on the Carnser Car Park, Blakeney Quayside.
5pm onwards; Variety of Hot Food & Refreshments and various attractions, 6.15pm ‘Ruby Flames’, 6.45pm Bonfire Lit, 7.30pm Fireworks Display.
Holkham Hall at Christmas
As seen on Channel 4’s ‘Christmas at Holkham’, the Hall is dressed in festive finery each year. Enjoy a guided tour of the magnificently decorated state rooms.
The intimate Candlelight experience begins in the splendid Marble Hall followed by live music and ambience of the Palladian Hall before being taken on a guided tour of the magnificent state rooms adorned with opulent Christmas decorations and beautiful flickering candlelight.
Finish the tour of the Hall in the magnificent Old Kitchen with a glass of Prosecco and a mince pie.
Blakeney National Nature Reserve Discover the beauty of the salt marshes and the sand dunes of the Blakeney National Nature Reserve. It offers a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of the North Norfolk coast. You can also take a boat trip from nearby Blakeney Point or Morston to see the local seals in their natural habitat.
Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham are two of the most beautiful beaches in North Norfolk. With miles of golden sand and crystal clear water, they are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or just taking a relaxing walk. You can also visit the famous Holkham Hall and Gardens, which are located just a few miles away from Old Church Hall.
